About Chabad on Call

Chabad on Call is committed to creating a warm community within the hospital environment by reaching out to patients, families of patients, and medical staff, addressing both their emotional and spiritual needs. 


The organization also provides numerous resources such as holiday packages and prayer booklets for patients and their families, an online database which allows users to locate Chabad services at participating hospitals, and educational webinars and courses.

Board Members

Chabad on Call was launched by a dedicated group of rabbis and activists. They form the board of directors, and are deeply involved in making sure our mission is successfully and continuously met.

Rabbinic Board

Jewish law and ethics are enormously relevant to medical decisions. We are especially fortunate to have a  committed panel of senior rabbinical figures constantly on call. Their vast knowledge is an indispensable resource.

Rabbi Yosef Y. Shusterman received Smicha (Yore Yore) and Dayanus (Yodin Yodin) from Lubavitcher Yeshiva in New York. He is the Director of Chabad of North Beverly Hills as well as the Rav of the Chabad community in Los Angeles.

​

Rabbi Yehoram Ulman serves as a Rosh Beis Din (Senior Dayan) on the Sydney Beis Din and is the immediate Past President of the Rabbinical Council of NSW. He received Smicha for Rabbonus and Dayonus from world renowned authorities, including Rabbi Pinchos Hirschprung and Rabbi Zalman Nehemia Goldberg shlit’a.

Medical Advisory Board

We are thankful to the devoted medical professionals who have generously given of their time and professional expertise. It is thanks to them that Chabad on Call can provide genuine assistance to those in need.

Dr. Shlomo Minkowitz, MD is Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology and Weill Cornell Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY.

​

Dr. Avi Rosenberg, MD, PhD is a physician-scientist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He is also a practicing Mohel.

​

Dr. Shmuel Margolin, MD is an internal medicine specialist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH.
